Video: Marti Yates discusses the benefits of infant massage and gives a short demonstration for Raising Arizona Kids. (watch here)
Marti Yates comes to the field of 'mother care' through her own experiences. With each of her six pregnancies and deliveries she was cared for by her own wonderful mother, who imparted to her volumes of wisdom gleaned from raising twelve children. The cycle continues as Marti guides her own daughters through pregnancy and into their roles as mothers. Recognizing that not all women have the benefit of their own mother's guidance and support during this exciting, and sometimes frightening, introduction to motherhood. Marti seeks to provide such a service to women.By teaching new parents and caregivers the importance of touch and the techniques of infant massage, Marti provides them with an invaluable tool that promotes a special lifelong bond with their child, as well as many physical benefits for their babies and themselves. By spending time at home with the parents and the baby, Marti provides support and experience to calm and reassure new mothers and fathers so they have the confidence to enjoy their role as parents.
Marti is a graduate of the Cortiva Institute's School of Massage Therapy in Scottsdale and is a certified infant massage instructor (CIMI) having trained with the International Loving Touch Foundation.
Marti and Toesies to Nosies are currently working with individuals and groups in the Phoenix area and are pleased to donate their time to the following charitable organizations: The International Rescue Committee (theirc.org), Florence Crittenton (flocrit.org), Christian Family Care Agency (cfcare.org), Arizona's Children Association (arizonaschildren.org), and the DSNetwork (dsnetworkaz.org).
